Its been a few days again i guess, sorry couldn’t bring anything exciting to the blog because i wasn’t out this few days and i am sorry readers. Now guess everyone all over the world knew the collapse of Lehaman Brothers. Guess it brought economic downfall all over the world and also the company AIG. The incident affected Singapore as well. Like companies like AIA,etc.
Now we have a rush of people taking out the investment from AIA. However, my mom seems cool about it. Well my family bought quite a number of insurance and investments from AIA, so i am kinda surprise she acted so cool. Well but all seem well in Singapore its not affecting every Singaporean i guess because there wasn’t any large number of sucide cases…lol, you know what i mean.
Okay, went to watch local production movie “The Days”.
All right this pictures were taken from the official movie website of “The Days”. Hope I don’t run into copyright issues. Bleahx. XD
The show is about 2 brothers who got into the life of gangsters, brotherhood, the set is in the early 1990′s in Singapore. About how the elder brother introduce his little brother into his circle of “hia di” or we call them brothers and into the life of a gangster. Its because he wants to protect his younger brother as he enters secondary school from bullies and in a form showing his brotherly love towards him. However, due to somethings, some matters there was break down between the gangs and the brothers themself. Well…can’t expect me to tell u the whole story right. You have to watch it!
The whole movie is totally different from Royston Tan’s previous movie “15″ although it has the same theme gangsterism. I must admit that both movies were educational and down to earth. Well, watching “The Days” really brought back fond memories during my secondary school days. Haha, and something to laugh at the mistake i have made. Especially the 1990′s set, guess thats the time people were spotted with centre parting hair styles, very long fringe, sharp combs, tight Versace jeans and clothing. Guess thats also the time where gangsterism was very active.
All right, i know i am not a professional movie critic, but i give a 4 out of 5 star for the movie. Must watch for ah beng and ah lians, also for people who wants to look back in to the past. The official movie website is www.thedays.ning.com . Once again thumbs up for the movie, cast, and the director. Cheers
